World gone crazy

2020 will long be held in collective memories across the globe.  Natural disaster followed natural disaster.  Fires, famine, floods and more, they seemed never ending.  Nature was finally fighting back, but her targets were broad, and those that suffered were not always deserving of such attention.   Too often those without lost what little they had.

Did we listen?  Did we heed her cry for help?

No.  No, we did not.

Too few took up her call.  Too few were moved to action.  And still she cried.  Ice caps melting, sea levels rising, warmer winters for some, and smoldering summers.

Then came Covid-19.  A common enemy for all nations, or so it would seem.  We did not face the virus as a single race.  Countries took their own decisions, focused on their own defenses.  Some very cautious, some not.  Governments held their hands out, asking for resources, and yes, some gave, and there should have been enough.

How many communities saw corruption, again and again.  Even one would be too many, and there were many more.  Greed outshone compassion, charity all but forgotten by those who should be serving the people.  Still we see too much, when will things ever change.  There must be a better way.

Nature had a breather as lockdowns took effect.  But what did we learn, what changes will we make?  A new normal, so we’re told.  Will it be new enough?  Will nature share the normal?  What comes next.  It’s up to us, each and every one of us.  We have a choice to change direction.  When we stand together we are strong enough.  Can we leave our differences, our hates and discrimination?  Can we leave them behind and face the future as 1 people, committed to the future of the planet as a whole.  Can we be the one that nature smiles upon and blesses?  Where to from here, where to?  A new order, perhaps.  A new focus, on wholeness, on nature, on living.  Let’s build the future, for the people and the planet.

World gone crazy, but it doesn’t have to be.
