My name is Janine de la Guerre and I live with my husband and fur-kids in Gauteng, in sunny (mostly) South Africa.
After school I completed a BA degree, majoring in English and Applied Psychology. My first “real” job was as a Maths tutor, giving me an immense amount of satisfaction. It is very gratifying seeing someone grow right in front of your eyes. I loved it; and then it was time to move on.
Next up was a Cobol programing course, followed by many years in a corporate environment, working mostly in the mainframe space. I was actively involved in the training of entry level programmers, and the mentoring of anyone wanting to learn. It was during this time that I was introduced to NLP, and I was in love all over again. I quickly completed my NLP Practitioner and Master Practitioner certifications, and Hypnosis Practitioner and Master Practitioner. I moved into a formal coaching role at work, both with individuals and groups. Fantastic times!
And then it was time for a change, again. I left the corporate world and focussed on presenting NLP-based trainings, and individual coaching/therapy sessions. I watched my clients grow, and grow. It’s amazing how the right sentence, phrase, or even a single word can be life changing, and I don’t say that lightly. I earned a nickname – “The Mental-Linguist”. I decided to do my NLP and Hypnosis Trainers Training. These trainings were held in Vegas, and luckily what happened in Vegas did not stay in Vegas. I happily returned home after a challenging few weeks, with my new toolkit. Suffice to say I grew and grew!
And now I do a bit of everything. I still do some mainframe development and consulting, see clients, and get involved in training.
