I love words, really I do. Twisting them, turning them, using and abusing them. In fact, they might even be more fun to play with than Lego. You can build a whole lot more, and you’re not limited to what’s left in the box. I learnt to read and write at an early age, and was soon devouring every book I could get my hands on.
For better, or for worse, I am also very observant, and people were always interesting subjects. Add to that a high degree of empathy, and I guess you can say that I became a ‘communication expert’ at a very young age. Perhaps not an expert at my own communication, as I was shy and often kept to myself.
I noticed how different words affected people. That how something is said, is often more important than what is said. That a word can mean diffent things to different people, and most importantly, that while many people speak with one another, others speak at each other. And ‘with’ was almost always better than ‘at’.
I started writing, initially short essays and then poetry too. Later came the introspective stuff, observations, and finally a desire to share my knowledge with others.
I still write, obviously, and, although I read fewer books, I read a lot of ‘not books’.
Wordwizz is about all of this. Some things will be here purely because I want them to be. Other bits will be informative. And other bits, well your guess is as good as mine when wondering how those get here.
